It is with deep sorrow and profound reverence, we announce the passing of Audrey L. Lusty, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us tragically on November 30, 2025. Born on October 2, 1938, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Audrey lived a life enriched with love, passion, and a commitment to community that will be profoundly missed.
A dedicated and lively spirit, Audrey was an unpublished author, painter, musician and an avid reader with a particular fondness for mystery novels. She was a steadfast supporter of Germanfest and an active member of the American Society of Germans from Russia, where she cherished her cultural heritage.
As a world traveler, Audrey embraced adventures with her beloved husband, Ray, to places as diverse as Hawaii, Russia, Germany, France, and Spain, in addition to many memorable cruises. An enthusiastic military supporter, she took immense pride in her husband’s Naval service as well as her two grandsons, who, respectively, served and are serving honorably in the Air Force and Army. Audrey's enduring friendships blossomed in her cherished breakfast club at Jim's Grille in Cedarburg alongside her dear friends Carolyn, Celia, and Marie.
Audrey embraced her family’s Canadian heritage. She spent many summers in her younger years, with close friends and family in the Saskatchewan and Manitoba provinces. Audrey traveled back to Canada many times with both her children and grandchildren to enjoy the lush wheatfields of the Qu’Appelle Valley and Hoffmann Coulee, a provincial landmark named after her paternal grandfather, Pastor George Hoffmann.
Professionally, Audrey made a significant impact as a secretary for the Mequon Thiensville School District, where her warm demeanor and efficiency touched countless lives. In her retirement, she shared her knowledge by instructing basic computer skills and lecturing at WEAC conventions, embodying her passion for education and support for her community. Audrey proudly graduated from Concordia University Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in business communications, a testament to her dedication to lifelong learning.
Above all, Audrey cherished her family, whose love and laughter filled her heart with joy. She is survived by sons, Raymond Lusty Jr., Eric (Louise) Lusty, and Randall (Lori) Lusty, seven grandchildren, Melissa (Jerome), Anastasia, Raymond III, Alexander, Adam (fiancée Kaitlynn), Nathan (Ellie) and Danielle (Austin), sister, Rita (Robert) Nakadaira, and brother-in-law, Deryl (Theresa) Lusty who will continue to carry on her spirit. She is further survived by many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her AFS sons, Bernard Schmit from France and Matha Rattanussorn from Thailand, other relatives and friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Lusty Sr, one brother, Truxton Hoffmann, and sisters, Julia Miller and Linda Schultz.

She will be laid to rest next to her late husband, Raymond Lusty Sr., on Wednesday, at Pinelawn Memorial Park, in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society or to the Wisconsin Humane Society are appreciated.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we all carry forward the love, compassion, and joy she so generously shared.
