Duane E. Jaeger

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Duane E. Jaeger, a beloved husband, brother, and cherished friend, who left this world on September 26, 2026, at the age of 77. Duane was born on November 13, 1948, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, and spent his life in the embrace of family and community, ultimately settling in Grafton. 

Duane embodied the spirit of a true jack of all trades—witty, resourceful, and always ready with a tool in hand. As the owner and operator of his own T.V. appliance repair company, he had a unique talent for fixing anything with a plug and a screen. His determination to keep every item that might one day serve a purpose was legendary, a testament to his ingenuity and simple, yet profound approach to life. 

A proud veteran, Duane served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from January 1969 until May 1971. This experience shaped him in many ways, molding his character and instilling a sense of service that he carried into his everyday life. 

Duane's heart was as vast as his interests—he found joy in fishing and hunting, embraced the thrill of NASCAR racing, and held a deep affection for the Green Bay Packers. His love for the Milwaukee Brewers was marked by fond memories of the old County Stadium, where he enjoyed countless games with family and friends. An eclectic treasure collector, Duane amassed a variety of items, from Zippo lighters to belt buckles, each with its own story. Duane was known for being an exceptional grill master who could cook a mean steak, chicken, or a delicious pork shoulder. He would volunteer his cooking skills at the local corn roasts. 

He had a passion for film, particularly enjoying the timeless performances of Clint Eastwood and the action-packed adventures of James Bond. His musical taste was equally diverse, as he reveled in the sounds of country music and classic rock alike. 

Duane is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Jaeger, siblings, Kathleen (Dennis) Jones, Richard Jaeger, and Timothy Jaeger, brother-in-law, Harry (Jeanie) Ziemke, and sister-in-law, April Ziemke. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Geraldine Jaeger and brother-in-law, Jordan Behling. 

In honor of Duane's remarkable life, a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, 6:00 PM at the Rose Harms American Legion Post (1540 13th Ave.), Grafton. The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, prior to the service, from 4:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated. Duane will be laid to rest at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, in Union Grove. 

In this time of sorrow, we celebrate the legacy of Duane E. Jaeger—a man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
