It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean C. Roepke, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and esteemed educator, who entered into the arms of her Savior on February 25, 2026, at the age of 98. Jean, a gentle soul filled with compassion and grace, was born in Milwaukee to the late Max Wolff and the late Myrtle (nee Hansen) Wolff.
Jean dedicated her life to education, working as a teacher in secondary education. She received a college degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, embodying a lifelong commitment to learning. A devoted wife for 60 wonderful years to her late husband, Newton Roepke. Jean faced the heartache of losing her husband, as well as their son Dean. Despite her grief, her faith in Christ remained her guiding light.
Through phases of life, Jean held residence in Milwaukee WI, Birnamwood WI, Mesa AZ, and Cedarburg WI. Her laughter and infectious sense of humor brought happiness to those around her. She was a passionate and dedicated mother to her daughter, Linda (Curtis) Wenthur, Dan (Tom Van Den Bogart) Roepke, and Dean Roepke. She was also a loving grandmother to her three cherished grandsons (spouses) and great grandchildren.
A true artisan, Jean had a remarkable talent for quilting, knitting and crafting. Her skilled hands created beautiful pieces that not only adorned homes but also brought comfort to those in need. Her generosity knew no bounds, as she frequently donated her works to charities and lovingly crafted sweaters for babies. An active member of numerous clubs, she found joy in sharing her talents and creativity with others.
Jean’s life was a testament to kindness, strength, and the beauty of familial bonds and bonds of friendship. Those who were fortunate to know her will forever remember her warm spirit and generous heart.
A Memorial Service celebrating Jean’s life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, 12:30 PM at Advent Lutheran Church (W63 N642 Washington Ave.), in Cedarburg. The family will greet friends and relatives prior to the service, at the church, from 10:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Heifer International to help support hungry families.
Jean's spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and friends. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
