Jerald P. "Lucky Lil" Lilly

Jerald P. Lilly, “Lucky Lil”, a beloved father, devoted grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026, in Cedarburg, WI, surrounded by the warmth of memories that he had created throughout his vibrant life. Born in Wisconsin, Jerry was the youngest of four boys, growing up in Eagle River and later raising his family in Cedarburg. He found joy sitting outside around a fire, listening to music, taking in the nature surrounding him and staring at the stars, many times until the sun came up. His home was always filled with laughter, music, and the delicious aroma of his famous homemade soup, particularly his beloved chicken dumpling.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy, under the Ceremonial Guard Division, a role that underscored his deep respect for service and sacrifice.

 Jerry was an accomplished structural steel ironworker, he helped shape the skyline throughout the United States and especially in Wisconsin through his work on notable projects like Lambeau Field, U.S. Bank Building, and Miller Park Stadium. He was a proud member of Local 8 Iron Workers and found immense camaraderie within the union, appreciating the brotherhood forged in the steel of their labor. Jerry’s skillful hands crafted not just structures, but also a legacy of hard work and dedication. 

His love for family, especially for his children, was a cornerstone of his life. Jerry was a devoted father and grandfather, cherishing moments spent with his family. He is survived by his children: Heather (Chris) Mader, Shannon Lilly, Jamie Lilly, Corrine Kearney, and Jason Lilly; and grandchildren, Alexandria, Evonne, Wynter, Kaidyn, Kelly, Stephen, Ryan, Rachel, Ethan, and Logan. He is further survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, his former wife, Denise Boerner-Lilly, other relatives, and his iron worker brothers. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Adella Lilly, and brothers, Richard, Ralph, and Tom Lilly. 

An unapologetic soul, Jerry was known for his wit, authenticity, and generous spirit. He would do anything to help others and was always there to lend an ear to those in need. He lived his life to the fullest, sharing special moments with his family and friends. He loved his electric bike rides, enjoying a cold Miller High Life, and cheering on the Packers. 

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, dry humor, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed but celebrated for the rich life he lived, the impact he had on all who knew him, and the stories we will all share. 

In honor of Jerry’s life, an Irish Wake will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at North 48 (W62 N599 Washington Ave.), Cedarburg, from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Be ready to laugh, share your favorite Jerry stories, memories, and enjoy the Packer game. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family or to the charity of your choice are appreciated.
