Listen to Obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Kaleb Kolanda, who left us on November 13, 2025, after a tragic car accident, at the age of 21. Born in Mequon, Wisconsin, Kaleb was a cherished son to Kim Kolanda and big brother to Kaitlyn. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

A proud graduate of Cedarburg High School, Kaleb had a zest for life that was infectious. He found joy in the simplest of things, whether it was working in the garage alongside his beloved Gramps, enjoying his Grams’ home cooked meals, pursuing his passion for welding, or enjoying the thrill of demolition derbies. Kaleb's great sense of humor and warm-hearted spirit brought smiles to the faces of everyone he met.

An old soul, Kaleb embraced a variety of interests. He loved music and dabbled with learning to play the accordion, showcasing his adventurous spirit. He cherished moments spent fishing and was known for his love of animals, particularly his loyal Labrador, Chevy. His fondness for his family shone brightly, especially during cherished times spent with his cousins. Kaleb had an unwavering love for his GM vehicles and was a devoted Taco Bell enthusiast, always ready for a good meal and good company. As a child, he was rarely seen without his piglet stuffed animal, a testament to his kind-hearted nature and gentle spirit.

Kaleb is survived by his mother, Kim Kolanda sister, Kaitlyn Kolanda, father, Ken (Karly) Kolanda, grandparents, Terry Kolanda, Robert & Sharon Hollnagel, Richard (Michelle) Kolanda, Keith (Debbie) Kolanda, Carrie Kolanda, David (Christine) Kolanda, and Brian (Angie) Hollnagel, special cousins, Bryan Kolanda, Connor (Sarah) Kolanda, Ava and Carson Hollnagel, and Sawyere Kolanda. Further survived by “Auntie Michelle”, “Geri Geri”, many other relatives and friends. Kaleb was preceded in death by his grandmother, Nancy Kolanda, great-grandparents Joyce “Nene” and Roland Hoffmann, and special great-uncle Rolly Hoffmann.

Kaleb's life, though tragically cut short, will be remembered with great fondness and celebration. A special thank you is extended to Jake Krajenka who found Kaleb after his accident and allowed our family to spend valuable time before his passing. We would also like to thank the staff at Froedtert Hospital, Lawlis Family Hospice, and Cathy at Select Specialty Hospital for their compassionate care during his time of need.

In honor of Kaleb's life and spirit, a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at the Rose Harms American Legion Post (1540 13th Ave.), Grafton, at 7:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of his life, prior to the memorial service from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

Kaleb Kolanda may have left this world, but his spirit will forever remain in our hearts.
