Kathryn A. "Kathy" Wegner

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathryn A. Wegner, who departed this life on August 25, 2026, at the age of 76. Kathy was a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the best wife. She was known for her profound appreciation of life's simple joys and her unwavering love for her family.

Kathy found solace in nature, whether it be relishing the beauty and power of thunderstorms or simply walking on the beach, enjoying the sound and majesty of the waves. She had a deep passion for the outdoors: fishing at Pickerel Lake, spending time at Cool Sha Nagh or skiing trips to Colorado and the Upper Peninsula. She had memorable trips to Africa, Alaska, Canada, Costa Rica, and Europe, each bringing a different adventure and appreciation.

Kathy had incredible culinary skills that were enjoyed by many. Each meal had leftovers to be shared with family and friends, a true testament to her nurturing spirit. Her enthusiasm and passion transplanted well to the workforce, spending more than 50 years at Cary Rentals where she was respected and admired by both colleagues and clients.

Kathy was a woman of great faith, living her life by the Golden Rule. Her friendships were at the heart of her life, remaining close with friends from high school as well as those she made along the way. Most importantly, she loved her family, which brought immeasurable joy and pride. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Wegner, brother, Cliff (Becky) Giese, daughter, Mollie Jack, son, Matthew Tonn, stepdaughter, Lara (Jason) Tietz, daughter-in-law, Amy Weber, grandchildren: Brady Zwick, Maxwell Zwick, Sydney Tonn, Shea Weber-Tonn, Nicholas Jack, Allie Tietz, and Matthew Tietz; great-grandson, Dru Bilot (Tietz), sister-in-law, Nancy Giese, brother-in-law, Dennis Gall, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Margaret “Peggy” Giese, sister, Roberta Gall, and brother, Clay Giese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton, on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass at 1:00 PM. Kathy will be inurned at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, in Grafton.

In remembering Kathy, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and appreciation for the beauty of her life. Her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
