It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lisa A. Large, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
Lisa was a wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister and friend, who was born into eternal life on October 10, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on April 18, 1962, to Sherman and June Schlenvogt. Lisa was raised in Port Washington and spent most of her life living and raising her family in Kewaskum Wisconsin.
Lisa's life was lead by caring for her family. It didn't matter what they needed and when, she was always there. She was the one everyone called for advice and guidance. She was always just a phone call away. She was the voice of support, accountability, a quick weather update and recipe tips. Mostly Lisa was a listening ear without judgement who offered gentle advice and she had a fierce praying heart.
Lisa lived out the true definition of being a mom. Her children were the true essence of her being. She guided them through life being the truest examples of sacrifice, faith, grace, forgiveness and unconditional love, teaching them to always stand firm in their beliefs, fight for what's right, live humbly and stay faithful.
Lisa took immense joy in being a grandma/gigi to Finlee, Brody, and Asher, whose laughter and love illuminated her life. Her 3 grandchildren are truly what made her heart beat. They were her greatest gifts and she was their biggest cheerleader. Lisa spent the last 15 years of her life caring for her grandchildren, a role she wouldn't have traded for all of the riches in the world.
Lisa's life was underscored by her deep faith and a relentless passion for her values. She engaged with a heart full of love for democracy, grateful to live in a country she cherished. She found strength in her unwavering belief in her Lord, which guided her through life's challenges with humility and resilience. Lisa had a kind heart and had a smile that could light up any room she walked into. Not only was she beautiful but she was incredibly talented and had the ability to make her family home beautiful. She spent many years decorating, painting and stenciling for other people's homes and businesses. She had a knack for design, transforming every space she touched with her unique vision. Lisa was a true gift from God to anyone who knew her and we were blessed to have had her with us.
Lisa is survived by her beloved husband, Randy Large, her loving and devoted children, Janel (Brent) Schicker and Adam (Angie) Hubacek, her proud and adoring grandchildren, Finlee and Brody Schicker and Asher Hubacek; her cherished siblings and best friends for life, Scott Schlenvogt, Laura (Dave) Mueller, and Darren Schlenvogt, and mother-in-law, Pat Large. She is further survived by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and June Schlenvogt, step-son, Mitchel Large, father-in-law, Norman Large, brother-in-law, Rick Large, and former husband, Gary Hubacek.
A Celebration of Lisa’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, 7:00 PM at the Landt-Thiel American Post #470 (601 W. Dekorah St.), Saukville. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 4:00 PM until the time of service, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the remarkable woman, she was. In lieu of flowers, memorials of your choice are appreciated.
As we remember Lisa A. Large, let us carry forward her legacy of love, faith, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Lisa's best advice "This is only one season and before you know it, you will find yourself in a new season, just breathe and ask God to guide you through it."
