Roger Gene Paulin

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roger Paulin on June 27, 2026, a beloved husband, father, and a cherished friend to many. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Roger served his country with honor during the Vietnam War, embodying the spirit of bravery and dedication that so many have come to admire. 

Roger devoted 41 years of his life to Briggs and Stratton, where his industrious nature and unwavering commitment were instrumental in shaping his career. In retirement, he found a new calling driving a school bus for Johnson Bus, where he tirelessly supported handicap children, demonstrating the selflessness and compassion that defined his character. 

Those who knew Roger will fondly remember his famous quotes, such as, “Don’t let your mother find out,” and his playful “Yes boss” directed at his beloved wife, Chris. His love for Chris was profound; their bond was evident to all who witnessed it, serving as a beautiful example of partnership. Roger was a wonderful father, always present and engaged in his children’s lives—whether chaperoning dances, cheering on the sidelines at games, or simply providing a listening ear. 

A creature of habit and warmth, Roger had a unique fondness for eating while standing up, always on the go, and he loved to be surrounded by the lively sounds of polka music. His selflessness and dedication to his family left a lasting impact, and his legacy will be carried forward by those who loved him dearly. 

Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Chris Paulin, who will forever cherish the memories they created together; children: Casey Kerr, Kelly Kerr, Kari (Brandon) Adams, and Kathy (Yuki) Kanazawa; and grandchildren: Andrew and Dominic Kerr, Brad and Colten Prath, Owen and Hailey Adams, Kira and Noah Kanazawa. He is further survived by his siblings, Richard (Karen) Paulin and Ruthann Paulin, sister-in-law, Kathy Paulin, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents Matthias and Ada Paulin, and brothers, Ronald and Russel Paulin. 

A service will be held in Roger’s honor, with a burial at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, in Union Grove, on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, 3:00 PM, where he will rest amongst those who served alongside him. In celebrating his life, we invite all to reflect on the memories shared, the laughter, the love, and the remarkable spirit of a man who touched so many lives.
