Sandra I. Stencil, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 84. Born on May 13, 1942, in Shingleton, Michigan, Sandra's life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and generosity.

Raised in the picturesque surroundings of the upper peninsula of Michigan, she relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1960, where she met her husband Louis and together they raised their two daughters in Germantown, Wisconsin. A dedicated homemaker during her children’s formative years, Sandra later pursued a career in the finishing department at Arandell Corporation, where she later retired in 2007.

Sandra's love for life was evident in her many passions. She was an accomplished baker, known for her delicious cookies and intricate wedding cakes, which she lovingly created for family and friends. Her enthusiasm for crafting and a firm believer in the spirit of giving, she often shared her crafts and home-canned goods with neighbors and friends. She cherished her many camping trips where laughter and memories were made.

A true social butterfly, Sandra’s vibrant personality drew people to her. Her family and friends will remember her for her love of country music, her joyful moments spent traveling the countryside in the R.V. with her husband, Louie, and her lighthearted spirit—often punctuated by her playful “potty mouth.” Sandra adored her two beloved dogs, Daisy and Molly, who brought her immense joy during her lifetime.

In addition to her children, Brenda Hess and Linda (Charlie) Hutchinson, Sandra leaves behind a loving legacy of seven grandchildren: Amanda (Matt) Schultz, Charlie (Jeni) Hutchinson, Olivia (Stephanie) Schelle, Dieter (Jordan Parbs) Hess, Jacob Hutchinson, Maya (Max) Engel and Elijah (Isabel) Hess; and six great-grandchildren Sophie & Timothy Schultz, Chloe Schelle, Rose Hutchinson, Levi Engel, and Lucy Hutchinson, all of whom she cared for deeply. She is further survived by many sisters, brothers, other relatives and many friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis, in 2004, with whom she shared many years of love and partnership after marrying in Munising, Michigan, in 1963. She was also preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Robert McDonald.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Sandra's remarkable life during a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton, on June 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The visitation will take place on Thursday, at the church, from 2:00 PM until the time of service. Sandra will be laid to rest, next to her beloved husband, in Munising, Michigan, surrounded by the serene beauty of her homeland.

As we gather to honor Sandra, we reflect on her boundless spirit and the imprint she has left on our hearts. Her kindness, creativity, and love for others will forever resonate within us, a testament to a life well lived.
