Listen to Obituary

Susan “Sue” Waters (nee Brown)

Sue went home to our Savior, on July 7, 2026, after a 19-year courageous battle with cancer. Always a fighter, never a complainer.

Sue was born on January 21, 1956, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Clarence Brown and Nancy Thorndyke. She graduated from Dominican High School, in 1974. She graduated from Marquette University with a BSN in Nursing, in 1979. Sue was united in marriage with Dave Waters on October 10, 1981. Sue cared for patients with kindness and compassion for 42 years at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Milwaukee.

Sue treasured many trips to Door County, enjoyed Brewers baseball, and spending time with her 4-legged fur babies, Bella and Buddy.

Sue is survived by her loving husband, Dave, and her son, Brian. She is also survived by her siblings, Matt (Cheryl) Brown, Ken Blair, sister-in-law of the late Kathy (Randy) Boeck, amazing nieces and nephews, Dan (Kristen), Kristy (Mike), Amanda (Gary) and Brittany. Great aunt to Ryliee, Braxtin, Hadliee, Tobey, and Savannah, special “sister” Sue Korinek, and many other relatives, friends, and colleagues.

A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, 12 Noon at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church (1525 N. Grant St.), Port Washington. The family will receive family and friends, on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the church, from 10:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Sue’s name.

A special thank you to the loving and caring staff at Aurora Medical Grafton Cancer Center, 3rd floor Oncology, IV Therapy Department, Sarah Richardson Hospice, and Wisconsin Nurses Guard.
