Virginia “Ginny” Amoe Francour
Virginia A. Francour, beloved wife, cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and proud Native Hawaiian, passed away peacefully from natural causes on July 15, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on March 30, 1929, in South Kona, Hawai’i, Ginny lived a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Ginny graduated from Hilo High School in 1947 and furthered her education at Honolulu Business College, completing her studies in 1948. She was employed as a secretary at Cutler-Hammer in Milwaukee and later at Control Products, Inc., Grafton. Ginny was an avid enthusiast of many activities that brought her joy, including bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles, playing cards, crocheting, and especially, reading. She embraced her Hawaiian heritage and took great pride in sharing it with her family. Ginny particularly enjoyed gathering with loved ones and creating cherished memories that will continue to live on in their hearts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Terry Francour; her daughter, Carla (David) Nielsen; her sons, Daryl (Toni) Francour and Dan Francour (Kelly Buchholz). Grandchildren, Benjamin (Ben Peterson) Nielsen, Cody (Danielle) Nielsen, Brad (Kim) Falvey, Danielle Falvey (Jason Prink), and Joshua Francour. Great-granddaughters, Palmer Dawn Nielsen and Adelaide Lee Falvey. Ginny is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Barb Francour and Nancy Francour and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ginny was preceded in death by her father, Kim Young Sun, mother Mary Kapea Sing Yuen, and brother Sing Yuen “Larry” (Jean) Kim, In-Laws Ernest and Lucille Francour, Brothers-in-Law Richard Francour, Roger (Sue) Francour, and Gerald Francour, and Sister-in-Law Joan Francour.
In addition to her immediate family, Ginny leaves behind a wide circle of friends who admired her vibrant spirit and warmth. For many decades, she brought joy, zest, and humor to all who knew her, and her easy smile and laughter were freely given to everyone she met.
A celebration of Ginny's life will take place on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church (1619 Washington St.), Grafton, Wisconsin. The visitation is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. In honor of Ginny, visitors are encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiian shirt or bright colors to reflect her love for life and her Hawaiian roots.
